With robust offerings for differentiated instruction, personalized learning, assessment, and professional learning, Lexia helps more learners read, write, and speak with confidence.įounded in 1984 with private funding and grants from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Lexia’s instructional, assessment, and professional learning programs play a critical role in literacy learning for millions of K–12 students and educators. For more than 30 years, the company has focused solely on literacy and today provides a full spectrum of solutions for both students and teachers. Read More.Lexia Learning, a Cambium Learning® Group company, is the structured literacy expert. Not to mention that you loose your progress if you forget to log out, instead of just closing the tab.The program is a discombobulating experience. Furthermore, many questions are set up ambiguously and do not explain what you got wrong (unless again, you have headphones.) I have found the unit restarts sometimes if I answer one or two questions incorrectly, but other times I just lose my answer streak. I entreat Lexia to place instructions at the top of the question, instead of an audible disarray that makes users ferociously click their keyboards. During this time, it explains the instructions only audibly for the next question, so sometimes it takes longer than 10 seconds. (If you are a user without headphones, this will happen:) After clicking an answer, you have to wait an average of 10 seconds in aggravating silence before you can get to the next question.

In addition to this, you have to have an abundant level of patience to complete any single unit. I have to guess most of the time because the videos do not provide instructions, just the meaning of the topic. Technical-wise: The questions are impossible if you do not have access to headphones. The theme colors are blue, green, yellow, and orange which does not sit right with me, the palette does not match at all and is one of the least aesthetically pleasing programs I have ever seen. Not to mention the art style for units look horrible, I wish they could do something cute with animals or at least something more decent-looking if they are going for the realistic art style. Negative: Aesthetic-wise: Lexia's websites layout looks straight out of 2012. There is visible room for improvement but that is the least of my concern. They explained what the topic was, and some videos were surprisingly well made. I politely prithee and beseech the Lexia PowerUp company to take criticism and update their musty, old-school, not modernly-adjusted, non-aesthetically pleasing layout, features, and art. Summary: Overall I do not recommend Lexia for administrators or students please look for a better program worth your money.
